GScriptLite is...

the light version of GScript.

If you don't have Microsoft Excel, or the machine power is not enough for using Excel with QuickTime Player, GScriptLite might solve the problem.
GScriptLite has simple text editor, and write data into the text as CSV. You can save, or load the text file.
GScriptLite has all functions of GScript, except sorting and reading the clicked line.

How to use?

First things to do

1: Launch QuickTime Player, open the movie to transcribe.
2: Launch GScript.
3: Choose menu item "File" and "New". A new text file will open.

Basic procedure (1): transcription

1: Select the range you want to describe. Drag the control head on QuickTime Player with shift key, and you'll find gray zone on the time line. This is the selected range. If you have Player Pro version,  you can use in / out selection markers to select the range.

TIPS 1:You can move the markers frame by frame with left / right cursor on your keyboard.

TIPS 2:When you click the control head and push the cursor keys with shift key, you can move the markers with the control head.

2: Move on to GScript. You can find the time of selected range in StartTime and EndTime field.

Input the Sender, the Type of the behaviour, and the Annotation. Or you can leave them empty and edit them later.

TIPS :You can use "," as delimiter in the annotation field. For example, when you type "I sai to you , I love you.", "I said to you" will be put into item 5, and "I love you" into item 6.

3: Click Write button, or hit return key in the Annotation field.

You can find your data on the 3rd line of the text file; 1st item for Start time, 2nd for End time, 3rd for the Sender, 4th for the Type, and 5th for the Annotation. You can add more items or edit the data. Start time and End time also can be edited on the text, but it's much easier to use GScript for editing the time data (see "Editing the text data").

4: Repeat 1-3 for transcribing.

5: Save the text file when you finish the transcription.

Basic procedure (2):Play the transcription

1: Select the line (or a cell of the line) in the text file.

2: Move on to GScript. Click Read & Play button.

Notice: Open just one movie and one text file for the transcription.
Opening multiple movies and files would make the task heavier, and cause the mismatching betweeen the movie and the text file.

Advanced procedure (1) : Adding the annotation in the mid of playing.

1: Check off the Selection Only button. Check the Loop button.

2:  Click the ">" button and play the movie.

4: You'll find the movie is played backward. Click the QR button (or Command key + B) again.

5: You'll find the range is selected from the point you clicked 2nd time to the point you clicked 1st time, the SelectionOnly button is checked, and the movie is played in loop.

6: Type the annotations while you listen. Click the Write button or push Command key + E. The annotation added in the 3rd line of the text file.

7: Check off the SelectionOnly button or push Command key + T.

8: Repeat 3-7.

Advanced procedure (2): Continuous transcripting

5: Click the ">>" button or push Command key + "]". The selected range will be moved to next. If you'd like to go back, click the "<<" button or push Command key +"[".

6: Repeat 4-6.

Advanced procedure (3): Editing the text data.

1: Click +/- button or enter the number of the Row number you'd like to edit.

2: Click the Read & Play button and start the movie.

3: To refine the selection, move on to QuickTime Player and drag the in / out selection markers.

4: To edit the annotations, rewrite the fields on GScript.

5: Click the Overwrite button. The selected line of the text data will be edited.

moviename, sender1, sender2, sender3,type1,type2,type3
